Built the business case for a digital ID solution
Sector
Public Sector
The purpose of the project
Working with a large public service department, we researched and assessed a digital ID solution. Our client was looking to provide a secure and convenient means by which customers can verify and authenticate their identity as they were experiencing an increasing volume and complexity of services moving online, and the sensitivity (and therefore risk) of customer data became paramount.
What we did
We initiated project management activities to clarify scope and timelines [including creating a project brief, a risk and issues log and a project sizing matrix] – based on PRINCE2 methodology and the Project Lifecycle. We then conducted a supplier management and product evaluation. We also supported the creation of an RFQ to appoint digital ID specialist consultancy (for independent assessment of digital ID solutions)
We facilitated suppliers by being the main contact for selected consultancy, addressing questions, making introductions, organising workshops, managing stakeholders. We delivered workstream leadership too by identifying key contacts and built new internal relationships, provided education around digital ID for key interested parties.
The outcome
The project is currently in flight and reaching a critical decision point. we are currently supporting the planning around a growing understanding of the future activities that will be required (including user testing and change management, which were previously not in scope).
